Happy Christmas!

It is too late to say Merry Christmas,,,
but I hope everyone had a warm wonderful Christmas and Boxing day!

Design's deepening love affair with paper

Candida Balfour wrote about my work in her column
in Financial Time Web-magazine 'how to spend it'.

イギリス Financial Times の ウェブマガジン「how to spend it」内のコラムで、

ライター:Candida Balfour(翻訳/松下裕子)

Slice.

The Crooked Book

The Crooked Book is a lovely vintage shop as well as a cafe,
where is in Boscombe, Bournemouth.

I visited for the first time and absolutely loved it!
And the soup I had was sooo good too :P

The Crooked Book".

A senior lecturer of my University, David Evans, lives around here.
His book "Critical Dictionary" is in the cafe as well.

I bought a mag and an old picture book there.
They are so reasonable price kindly. Should visit there soon again!

Wonderland! - V&A Childhood Museum

A month has past since MA course started and now I research "dualism in story-telling".
Last week I had a research trip to V&A Museum of Childhood in London.
It is such an enchanting place where I got an inspiration for "Hide and Seek" before.
My favorite place best ever!

More photos on my Facebook page.

V&A Museum of Childhoodへ。

Stratford and Warwick

I traveled to Stratford-upon-avon and Warwick last week. I visited all the places related to Shakespeare. I have not bothered to put here all the photos of Shakespeare's birthplace etc, because other websites are much better at this! It was nice to walk around enjoying the scenery and history, especially knowing about the lives of men and women from the 11th to the 16th century.

I took a train to visit Warwick Castle which was built on the orders of William the Conqueror in 1068. Although it is worth visiting this historic huge castle, it is slightly like a theme park due to it being leased by the Madame Tussauds group. The view from the tower of the castle was amazing, showing the town of Warwick, farmland, woodland and the River Avon. St Mary's church in Warwick village was also interesting to see gorgeous tombs of the Earls of Warwick. Notably Richard De Beauchamp the 13th earl of Warwick. You can see bears everywhere in the town, and also on the tombs! It is an emblem for the earls of Warwick.

On the last day I visited Anne Hathaway's cottage where Shakespeare's wife lived with her family. It is just over 1 mile from the town centre and I had a pleasant walk there. The old house has a large garden with many kinds of plants, flowers and an apple orchard. I loved everything and enjoyed listening about the life style 400 years ago. The most surprising thing was that a bed was the most expensive piece of furniture. It was such a status symbol that it would be positioned in the dining room or close to a window in the hope that passers by may catch a glimpse of it. I really enjoyed my last holiday and now I'm ready for the course starting this Monday! Enjoy your weekend x
