Two of my latest work are in shop windows. (No.5 &13 in the map below.)
All artworks are illuminated, so it's best to visit after 6.30pm to enjoy!

As the work will be display on a shop window, I took a try to make bigger work which was new for me.
Bigger means more work to do!! (It was too late when I realised.)
I ended up working as busy as a bee running about between wooden workshop, laser-cutting workshop and the studio.
Today I transported all work into Poole to set up.
One is displayed in Guildhall Gallery where sells prints and pictures.
I created 120cm wide box with paper cutouts illustrating imaginary world which is mixture of present Poole and past time.
Small lights will be on between paper layers.
The other work is for Dr Feelgoods Tattoo Studio.
I asked the owners and some of my friends why/what/when they got tattoos.
One of my friend looks tattooing like one of the ways to be 're-born'.
I liked the idea as people tend to have tattoos as personal memory.
I chose butterflies as a metaphor for re-born and transformation.
A crawling caterpillar grows up to a flyable butterfly, although they are frail.
This work will be lit up with lights to get shadows.

明日、金曜日の夕方から日曜日まで、隣街のPooleでイベントがあり、
その一部として作品をお店等のウィンドウに展示します。
20人ほどのアーティストが参加し、全ての作品は光を使うもの。
私は2カ所場所をもらうことになり、窓面も大きいし、
今までやったことのない大きめな作品を作ることに。
が、大きければその分作業も増えるわけで、各工房をかけずり回るという結果（汗）
紙は大きいのでレーザーカッターで切っています。
そんな怒濤な日々も今日で終わり、無事作品を運搬・設置しました。
ひとつの作品は1m20cmの箱に紙をレイヤー状にいれたもの。
Pooleは歴史ある古い街で、そこから得たインスピレーションで
現在と昔の交差する空想の世界を作りました。
紙の間にライトが入ります。
もうひとつの作品は、タトゥー屋さんに展示されるもの。
日本での入れ墨のイメージとは異なり、タトゥーを入れている人は結構います。
入れたきっかけやモチーフを友人やお店の方に聞いて作品に反映させました。
ある友人は、タトゥーやピアスを
「人はただ産まれただけでなく、人生を通して色んな風に生れ変わりながら生きていく」
そのひとつの手段としてみているそうです。
確かに体に何かを刻むというのは、その時の思いや受けた影響をそこに留めること。
留学生の友人は、自分の国からイギリスにくる前にツバメのタトゥーを入れたそうです。
蝶は人気のあるタトゥーのモチーフであることと、
次のステップへ、飛び立ったり形を変えたり、という意味を作品に込めてみました。
そして短命である儚さ。
この作品には正面からライトをあてて影を写します。
