I have been invited to the artist in residence (AIR) in Mino where is one of the most famous paper making village in Japan. I am staying there from today for three months with three other artists coming from Netherlands, Vietnam and Germany. This year had about 50 candidates applied. Alongside working on own project, we will learn the traditional paper making and lantern making for inspiration and introducing the Japanese paper-"washi" into our artworks.
I hope that I will update my work on progress here almost every day to share what I'm thinking, doing and possibly struggling!
和紙で有名な岐阜県美濃市のアーティスト.イン.レジデンス(AIR) に招聘して頂くことになりました。私以外に三人の他のアーティスト(オランダ、ベトナム、ドイツから)の計4 名。今年は50人程の応募があったそうです。今日から3ヶ月間、美濃に滞在します。個々のプロジェクトを行いつつ、紙漉きや提灯制作などの研修もあり、美濃和紙を使った作品展を最後に行います。
制作の進捗や考えていること、作っているもの、もしくは息詰まって悩んでいる様子など(?) を、ここに毎日アップ出来るようにしたいと思います。
